Supporting Parents to Support their Children’s Mental Health & Wellbeing

Thursday, 30 November 2017 – Ardboyne Hotel, Navan – 7.30pm

National Parents Council Primary (NPC) Meath County Branch Presents:

‘Supporting Parents to Support their Children’s Mental Health & Wellbeing’

Date:  Thursday, 30 November 2017

Venue: Ardboyne Hotel, Navan

Time: 7.30pm

Positive mental health and wellbeing enables young people to lead fulfilling lives. It is recognised that the family is the primary source of nurturing and support for children and it plays a central role in the promotion of their positive mental health.

This session supports parents in encouraging and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in their children and also explores how the building of resilience in children helps them to manage and cope with the day to day stresses of life as they occur.

Parents who attend this session will:

  1. Explore the factors that influence mental health and well being in their child.
  2. Learn how to build and nurture resilience within their own child.
  3. Be given tips on how best to support their child’s positive mental health and wellbeing.

The evening will commence with a brief introduction to NPC and the election of NPC Assembly representatives

ADMISSION FREE!

All parents of primary school children are welcome
Please circulate this invitation to all parents

Internet Safety Day

Thank you to all parents who attended the internet safety night on the 23rd of October. It was a very informative evening and raised a lot of concerns we need to be aware of. Please see the guide below for extra information on staying safe online.

Duleek BNS Futsal team unbeaten!

Well done to the boys from 3rd and 4th class who took part in the FAI Futsal tournament held in Gormanston College on Friday, October 20th. They won their first game 1-0, drew the second game 3-3 and won the final group game 3-1. Unfortunately, they missed out on a place in the final due to goal difference. The boys showed fantastic sportsmanship throughout and really enjoyed the tournament. A big go raibh maith agat to Mr Malocca for all his work in preparing the boys for the tournament.

Great performances from all involved.

Chess Team Champions

Well done to the chess team who came first in the Drogheda Chess League this year. Derek Morris was captain of the team which includes Daniel Ryan, Ben Russell, Damian Szyderski and Jake Meehan.  It was a huge achievement especially as none of these boys made the Senior Chess team last year and were often playing against older pupils from other teams.

Chess is a popular game in Duleek with over 25 boys playing each Thursday at lunch time.
